Painting the calipers

Despite the Rostyle wheels being pretty much solid, you can still see the brake calipers on the front and the drums on the back through the holes. As we had pretty full tins of heat-proof paint from the engine block paint jobs, we set about with the brushes.

Heat-shield

With the engine-bay all coming together nicely, it seemed a shame to put the old heat-shield back on, so I decided to splash out a little and go for a new one.

With all the other work we've been doing in the engine bay, the engine block had started to look pretty tatty. First decision was what colour? The 'proper' colour for this production year is black, but I wanted to be able to see the shape of the block and so decided on the more traditional MGB block colour of maroon.
