While some of the first half was inches from hedgerows, the second half gave us some spectacular views of the surrounding countryside (though of course behind the compulsory Sunday driver!).

The start of the run had already given us a taste of what was to come, albeit not quite as tense! We saw plenty of other runners in the next hour or so, and it was good to see that it wasn't only us who could miss a turning!

I'd wanted to do the Kimber Run since we'd got hold of the B. We'd seen it a couple of years' back when we'd been visiting Chatsworth, and it being one of our favourite locations anyway it seemed an ideal place to do our first run.

The MGB GT's seat belts are anchored behind the back seat. That means that when you take a seat belt off it has a tendency to fall behind the front seats, ending up with you scrambling around for it when you get back in. To solve this the B's designers put a little hook on the pillar but this is often hard to tag with the belt and means you still have to twist to pick it up.

Time for another run across the Pennines. My usual run is along the A66, which is a much nicer route now its been made a dual-carriageway. However this weekend it was the Appleby Fair which meant I'd need an alternate route, one which just happened to include the Buttertubs Pass.
Pull up a chair and watch some cine.
Making the engine shiny, bit by bit.
A while back I aquired a 1979 MGB GT, and whilst it didn't actually work I was totally smitten with it and decided to get it back on the road.
