A wet drive down through Yorkshire ended in a clear day in Harrogate.

A sunny late October morning - perfect weather for throwing the B around the Yorkshire Dales.

The rather nice coincidence of my birthday and some MG racing at the local circuit meant there was only one place to be this Saturday!

Just a quick post to show the B out and about - here sat on top of the Pennines in a rare moment of sunshine. At least the rain on the way over showed my efforts to fix the minor leak from the windscreen surround had worked.

The morning of the MOT was probably the nicest morning of the year so far. The car passed with no problems or advisories and not a little interest from the younger lads at the garage. As the day was shaping up to be a good one we decided on a trip to the Lakes.

While some of the first half was inches from hedgerows, the second half gave us some spectacular views of the surrounding countryside (though of course behind the compulsory Sunday driver!).

The start of the run had already given us a taste of what was to come, albeit not quite as tense! We saw plenty of other runners in the next hour or so, and it was good to see that it wasn't only us who could miss a turning!

I'd wanted to do the Kimber Run since we'd got hold of the B. We'd seen it a couple of years' back when we'd been visiting Chatsworth, and it being one of our favourite locations anyway it seemed an ideal place to do our first run.

Time for another run across the Pennines. My usual run is along the A66, which is a much nicer route now its been made a dual-carriageway. However this weekend it was the Appleby Fair which meant I'd need an alternate route, one which just happened to include the Buttertubs Pass.

This trip would test out a few things. It would be the furthest trip the car had taken since we'd put it back on the road; being done on the wettest weekend in Cumbria for about 1000 years it would also give all the seals a good test.

I'm hoping to get a bit more video up on the site, so we'll start off with a bit of in-car footage from our latest run around the Yorkshire Dales. The sound isn't too great and you can't hear much of the engine, partly due to a bit of wind noise from a couple of gaps in the window rubber, so I'll do a bit of patching and try again.

With the nights drawing in I'm trying to get as much driving in as possible, so we took off in the MG for a run around the Yorkshire Dales. We clocked up around 100 miles in all, passing through a bunch of lovely villages.

I realised that I'd not posted any video of the car moving for a while, so as I had some new tyres and it was a nice day, we took a quick run out to our nearest B-road. The new tyres and adjustments definitely give the B lighter steering and a much smoother ride.

We took the MG out for it's first 'proper' drive out, a trip out for lunch to Barnard Castle in Teesdale.

With the MOT passed and the road tax paid we took it out for a celebratory run and it's first visit to the pumps in a while.
